LMS integration

Launch from the course students are already in.

Rocketproof is an LTI 1.3 tool. Oral assessments, simulations and role-play assignments open from inside your LMS, and released grades can pass back to its gradebook. Canvas is the platform we have verified end to end. Blackboard, Moodle and D2L Brightspace are supported on the same standard, and this page says exactly where each one stands.

What the integration does

Four things LTI 1.3 gives you.

Launch

Students and instructors open Rocketproof from the course without creating a second account for that launch.

Deep linking

Instructors place a specific assignment in a course from the LMS content picker.

Grade passback

Grades you release pass back to the LMS gradebook through Assignment and Grade Services. Practice assignments are never passed back.

Roster sync

Course rosters sync through Names and Role Provisioning Services.

Platform status

Where each platform stands today.

Verified means we have completed a registration, a launch and a graded passback against that platform. Supported means the integration is built on the same standard and has a setup guide, but we have not yet seen a launch on that vendor’s test system.

Blackboard LearnSupportedRegistration is supported on the same LTI 1.3 layer, including the deployment ID that Blackboard needs to tell institutions apart. We have not yet observed a launch on a Blackboard test system.
MoodleSupportedRegistration is supported through LTI 1.3. We have not yet observed a launch on a Moodle test system.
D2L BrightspaceSupportedRegistration is supported through LTI 1.3. We have not yet observed a launch on a Brightspace test system.

If your institution runs anything other than Canvas, talk to us before you plan a term around it. We will tell you what we have seen and help you register a test course first.

Setup

How an institution connects.

  1. 1. Register. An LMS administrator adds Rocketproof as an LTI 1.3 tool and shares the platform details with us. Each vendor has its own step-by-step guide.
  2. 2. Test. Launch from a test course as an instructor and as a student, and confirm a grade returns to the gradebook.
  3. 3. Release. Instructors place assignments in courses. The launch sets up the course link the first time it is used.
