For business and management

Negotiation is learned across the table, and a slide deck is not a table.

Business students are graded on memos and decks about conversations they have never had. Live role-play works, but a class of forty gets one or two turns, and the instructor cannot listen to all of them.

Two ways to use it

Simulate the situation. Assess the understanding.

The first example puts the student inside the situation. The second asks the student to explain and defend work they have produced. Both end in the same instructor review.

Simulate

Negotiate with a resistant client

Assignment type: Guided AI Conversation

The situation
A client wants to cut the price by 20 percent and hints at a competing offer. The student has a target, a floor and a deadline.
The AI
A procurement manager who is polite, well prepared and unwilling to move without a reason.
The student’s task
Reach an agreement the student can defend, or explain in the conversation why walking away is the right call.

What you can assess

  • Preparation and use of the case facts
  • Handling of pressure and objections
  • Quality of the final agreement or the decision to decline

Assess

Defend a business plan

Assignment type: Presentation Defense or Paper Defense

The situation
A team or an individual submits a pitch deck or a written plan.
The AI
The AI examiner asks about the assumptions in the student’s own deck.
The student’s task
Justify the market estimate, the pricing and the risks the student chose to include.

What you can assess

  • Command of assumptions
  • Financial reasoning
  • Response to challenge

These are examples of assignments an instructor could build. They are not customer case studies.

Build with AI

Start from a description, finish as the expert.

Give the assignment assistant the case and the outcome you want. It drafts the counterpart’s position, hidden constraints and a rubric, and you adjust how hard the counterpart pushes.

Read more about the built-in AI agents and what they can and cannot do.

Rubric ideas

Criteria you might score against.

  • Prepares with the case facts
  • Handles objections
  • Protects the student’s interests
  • Reaches or declines an agreement with sound reasons

Every score is a draft with the evidence behind it. You review the transcript, adjust the scores and decide what is released. See how authentic assessment fits into a course.

Questions

Business and management questions, answered.

Can Rocketproof be used for business role-play?

Yes. Instructors define the counterpart, the situation, the goal and how firmly the AI pushes back. Sales conversations, negotiations, performance reviews and client meetings all use the same role-play assignment type.
